TRC completed the full restoration of the traditional box sash windows on 1 Savile Row, we overhauled and draught excluded the windows with our unique perimeter sealing system, carried out remedial repairs and replaced the historic glass with handmade cylinder glass. This prestigious location which boats some of the customers of Gieves & Hawkes, such as the Duke of Cambridge, Diana, Princess of Wales, Charlie Chaplin and Sean Connery. Customers past and present also include, Winston Churchill, Admiral Lord Nelson, The Duke of Wellington, Mikhail Gorbachev, Bill Clinton and George W Bush, have now had the windows restored to their former glory by TRC Contracts.
Royal Clarence Marina, Gosport
TRC have commenced with the external window refurbishment of Royal Clarence Marina, a unique desirable grade 2 listed building on a waterside heritage location recently transformed by Berkeley Homes into one of the South Coast’s most sought after developments.
Due to the grade 2 listed status of the building and to preserve as much of the historical windows as possible we are refurbishing with new sections to match the original details.
The works involve stripping the existing painted surfaces, overhauling the windows and installing a perimeter sealing system, remedial repairs to the rotten timber using reclaimed Douglas Fir, full decoration inside and outside, and bespoke ironmongery designed and supplied by TRC. Additionally, we will be carrying out external brick pointing, collar joints and decoration of the rainwater goods.
Leeds Grand Theatre
A grade II listed Victorian urban landmark, this high profile project (£35m overall) had to overcome a number of logistical problems being in the highly populated centre of Leeds.
There were a variety of complex technical issues especially with the reproduction, replacement and restoration of very large, delicate stained glass leaded windows. The project encompassed the sympathetic restoration of the traditional auditorium and included the restoration of the theatre’s grand façade.
Royal Opera House Railway Carriage
TRC recently carried out the repair and redecoration at the Royal Opera House of their “Railway Carriage Bar” The works involved removing timber decay, piecing in new oak cills, splice repairs using epoxy resin and decoration, the works were carried out whilst the Royal Opera House was in operation and was completed on time and to budget.
Manor School – London Borough of Brent
TRC have been appointed as Main Contract by Brent Borough Council to carry out the scaffold, stone cleaning, brick repairs, 320nr timber window repairs, overhaul, draught exclusion, glazing and decoration. Work will be carried out in an occupied school over a 15 week period; the contract value is in excess of £350k.
TRC have recently been awarded the 2nd phase of works to Woolwich Barracks, working directly to Lend Lease we will be supplying and fitting 156nr. high performance double hung sash windows to the rear elevation and refurbishing 200nr. windows to the front parade elevation, works due to start early November.

TRC supplied and installed 65nr. high performance timber casement windows to closely match the existing profile.
Shopping spree! Harrods given a £200m makeover
Harrods is close to unveiling the first phase of a £200 million overhaul ordered by its new Qatari owners.The listed building status meant that Harrods executives had to consult English Heritage on almost every aspect of the restoration, down to the width of the glazing bars in a new skylight. The installation of the escalator by Make architects has allowed windows to be reopened that had been bricked up since the Eighties, TRC carried out the refurbishment of these windows which included replacing the existing glass to a bomb and solar reflective type, full decoration internal and external along with replacing and refurbishing the existing ironmongery.
Bellingham House – Nether Winchedon, Bucks
TRC Contracts have recently completed the full overhaul, draught exclusion, repair and external decoration to Bellingham House in the picturesque village of Nether Winchendon. The existing box sash and casement windows were in a very poor state of repair. TRC have restored the windows, they will now give the owners many more years of service.
Liverpool Street Properties Georgian Quarter
TRC Contracts are currently carrying out the restoration and new window installation on behalf of Riverside Group in the heart of the cultural quarter, Liverpool.
We are nearing completion of Phase 2 and are looking forward to negotiating future phases of the project with Riverside Group.
