Milton Keynes Council
June 2014 – January 2015
TRC were employed by Milton Keynes Council to carry out the external refurbishment of the Grade 2 listed Brookfield Primary School. The contract period was 14 weeks and was being undertaken while the school was occupied. Extreme care and attention needed to be taken while carrying out the window refurbishment so as to not disturb the children during teaching times, and any noisy work was done before and after school and during breaks.
Works being carried out to the windows include:
- Paint stripping
- Glazing repairs
- Timber repairs
- Painting and ironmongery placement
- Draught proofing
The building has had a scaffold erected for the duration of the works.
Other work undertaken on the contract include:
- Brick and stone repairs
- Door replacements
I want to express my thanks, on record, to the whole project team for your efforts on this scheme. The project ran smoothly throughout thanks, in large part to good day-to-day communication and a degree of flexibility, both by TRC Contracts and the school staff, to allow work to proceed at a pace while being sensitive to all health and safety measures and to the needs of Wyvern School. The works, both the window and the stone work repairs, were finished to an excellent standard and I know that the school, staff, parents and pupils alike are extremely pleased with the vast improvement that the works have made to the appearance of the school building.
