What is ISO 9001?

ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management systems, demonstrating that procedures are in place to ensure that the highest operational standards are met. Its aim is to prove that an organisation meets its own internal standards for quality and that these in turn meet international standards. ISO 9001 is based on eight quality management principles which provide a structured yet flexible framework for ensuring your processes consistently meet the needs of your customers.

  1. Focus on customers
  2. Provide leadership
  3. Involve people at all levels
  4. Take a process approach
  5. Adopt a systems approach to management
  6. Continually improve
  7. Make decisions based on facts
  8. Aim for relationships with suppliers that are of mutual benefit

What are the benefits?

Having our quality management system independently certified to ISO 9001 demonstrates our commitment to quality, best practice and continual improvement of our procedures. It also provides assurance that our quality management system is operating efficiently and effectively to ensure we deliver the highest possible service time after time.

“Attainment of this internationally recognised certification demonstrates TRC’s commitment to quality and consistency of service and to delivering client satisfaction through continuous improvement.”

About the Exor accreditation

Exor was established in 1997 to provide an efficient, outsourced supply chain service to public and private sector organisations.

Exor’s services enable organisations to meet their compliance and procurement policies across a wide range of areas, including efficiency, economic development, regeneration and risk management. Since its launch Exor has become one of the leading independent providers of supply chain risk management solutions in the UK.

Exor’s approach towards compliance is based on an active and robust programme of checking, testing and independent validation of the information supplied. This proves the business (TRC Contracts) has been accredited to a standard where competency, viability and adherence with legal requirements and current codes of practice have been assessed.

“By completing any of the Exor product range your organisation will not only have proven their credentials meet the highest of standards but also enables you to demonstrate PAS 91 compliance. PAS 91 is the Government recognised prequalification question set for construction procurement, opening the door to public sector tenders and increased work.”
John Kinge
Technical Director

Exor uses a set of standards that have been developed in consultation with clients to become the accepted criteria for qualification for public and private sector clients. They offer 3 categories of accreditation – Gold, Silver and Bronze, each representing a different level of assessment. TRC Contracts was awarded Gold accreditation.

The type of accreditation depends on a number of criteria, including:

  1. The level of spend
  2. The category of work
  3. The physical and financial risks involved
  4. Any additional assessment criteria requested by the client.

Achieving Exor Approved Status is a statement of quality that demonstrates:

  • Financial viability
  • Robust management procedures
  • Competent administrative procedures
  • Effective employment policies
  • Competence/track record
  • Relevant certification and licensing
  • Environmental compliance
